Our Commitment to supporting those experiencing Domestic and Family Violence

The Redland Foundation has raised over $468,000 for Domestic and Family Violence causes in the last decade!

Over the past 8 years, Redland Foundation has proudly partnered with a number of community organisations to assist families impacted by domestic and family violence in the local Redlands community.

Awareness of domestic and family violence in all forms has increased over the last decade. Consequently, local heroes on the front lines are dealing with more cases of DFV, and need more support than ever before. Through strong advocacy, generous donations and supporting various fundraising events across Brisbane, Redland Foundation have supported the fundraising of over $468,000 for frontline services.

For the past 20 years, Maybanke has operated in the Redlands, providing a safe place for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence. Redland Foundation have been fortunate to work with Maybanke and the State government to complete four new accommodation units, a children’s playground and improve security infrastructure. This $260,000 project helped alleviate the continuous need for transitional housing in the local community.

The Redland Foundation have also supported The Centre for Women & Co Redlands, a State government funded and coordinated service in Redlands City. The Centre is a specialised domestic and family violence and women’s wellbeing service, providing counselling, education, support and assistance to families across the City. Redland Foundation provided a $100,000 grant to the Centre, ensuring the rapid assistance and services are accessible to more of the community.

DFV Assist is a pilot program established by the Redlands Community Centre and supported by the Redland Foundation through a $30,000 grant. When families find themselves escaping the horrors of domestic violence, this funding will help with the Centre’s aim of responding to the unmet needs that have been identified in Redland as there has been no case management available to our community before this pilot program. This program also gathers valuable statistics of the wellness of clients coming in and going out of the program. The initial feedback has had participants saying the program was life- saving.

Our Commitment to supporting homeless people in Redland City

“Homeless United is known to be the leading homeless program in Redlands, which now operates on community kindness. The consistent support from Redland Foundation has significantly assisted in allowing Homeless United to continue providing long-term housing solutions and case management to Redlands’ most vulnerable.”
